The 21-year old right-arm fast bowler has been referred to as the brightest young star in the Proteas team. Discovered during the inaugural edition of the Mzansi Super League, Lutho made an instant impression with his “calmness under pressure, variation of pace, and an ability to nail his yorker at will.”
Lutho played for the Tshwane Spartans franchise team in the Mzansi Super League and is also contracted to the Warriors franchise team domestically. He has been part of the Powerade National Academy intake in 2018 and 2019.
He made his debut for the Proteas in the second T20 international against Pakistan in Johannesburg earlier this year. His economical figures of 0-23 were key in reigning in Pakistan after a fast start and setting up a series-sealing victory.
