Thulani, 35, is from New Brighton in Port Elizabeth and received both her National Diploma and BA Honours in Journalism from Nelson Mandela University.
She has worked at a number of publications which include The Herald, Mail & Guardian, as a parliamentary correspondent at News24 and most recently as assistant editor of Drum and Move!.
Thulani takes over the reigns as Editor on 1 September 2020, on the eve of Drum’s 70th birthday, taking it into the digital sphere after the closure of its weekly printed edition.
“I’m looking forward to being part of the team that will take this iconic brand into the future. The team that will make sure we still produce the same amount of quality work, in our digital home with many exciting projects in the pipeline” says Thulani.
