Change the world

20/02/2020

The University had approached the court on an urgent basis consequent to the protest action which commenced on its campuses on Monday, 17 February 2020 for urgent interdictory relief.

An order was obtained, a copy thereof is annexed hereto.

The order is aimed at protecting the rights of those who wish to access the University to work and pursue their studies, while also allowing for the democratic right to protest peacefully in accordance with the conditions stipulated therein.

It further directs that the SAPS should enforce the order in the event that the order is contravened by protesting students.
