Change the world

Reasons to be Proud: Congratulations to Development Studies student, Student Entrepreneur and SRC member, Sandile Mjamba who has been invited to participate and present a paper at the Youth Development Southern Africa (YODESA) Inaugural Summit in Durban later this month.

Sandile has been hard at work to unearth a new innovative initiative that is aimed at empowering and elevating the growth of student entrepreneurship holistically on campus.

The main theme of the conference is “Working towards a sustainable youth development in the SADC”. The Conference will be a platform to over 500 delegates/guests made up of youth development practitioners from all over the SADC, international organisations for development and humanitarian and other participants.
YODESA will seek to share experiences and best practices on promoting the development of youth, particularly in the rural and previously disadvantaged communities in the SADC and beyond. The focus is on how YODESA can contribute towards changing the status quo of youth,  with a special focus on economic, cultural and social development - that may be adapted to further bring about sustainability to youth development programmes, in order to make them more practical.

Sandile will be presenting a paper on entrepreneurship development amongst the youth in SADC at the conference.

He was also selected to be part of the Young African Leaders Initiative that took place in Johannesburg in August this year.
