The current Five-Year Road Map was signed in 2023 during the 25th anniversary celebrations in Oldenburg.

Apart from the annual board meeting, the delegates also met with academics and researchers from Mandela University, who are currently collaborating with counterparts in Oldenburg, including those from the Energy Research Group, Institute for Coastal and Marine Research, Education and Health Sciences.
The delegates also visited the Masifunde Change Maker Academy and met with colleagues from the Engagement Office’s Hubs of Convergence.

Prof Ralph Bruder was the leader of the Oldenburg delegation, comprising further of the Vice-President for Academic Career Paths, Equal Opportunities and International Affairs, Prof Katharina Al-Shamery, Ambassador of the Partnership, Prof Karsten Speck, Head of International Office, Jenka Schmidt and the Regional Coordinator and Study Abroad Advisor for Africa, Asia, Oceania and Russia, Roman Behrens.
