The presentation took place at the Security Services Christian Advisory Board (SSCAB) meeting held at Kyalami Castle, Midrand, Gauteng.
This presentation followed earlier engagements in December 2025 and formed part of ongoing efforts to introduce the programme focused on community-based responses to addiction and community well-being to national partners.
The SSCAB functions as the National Chaplaincy Board for the South African security cluster, bringing together senior representatives from the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), South African Police Service (SAPS), and the Department of Correctional Services (DCS), as well as senior clergy from major Christian denominations across the country.
This meeting therefore was an important national platform to present the University and The Hope Revolution Vision’s collaborative work on the programme, its development and rollout.
The presentation shared the programme’s conceptual framework as well as its relationship to the Hubs of Convergence approach at the University, namely, to facilitate partnerships between universities, communities and other societal stakeholders to address complex social challenges.
The engagement was positively received by the Board and its members. Key outcomes included:

Support in principle for the programme’s rollout across the security services’ environment

Initiating follow-up engagements on how the programme could be implemented within individual security agencies’ contexts and

Recognising the value of collaboration between faith-based structures, community initiatives and higher education institutions, in responding to social challenges affecting members of the security services and their communities.
