MANCO discussed the current challenges facing the higher education sector and the university, which primarily revolve around funding and student accommodation issues, and how these are impacting the institution negatively.
Since some of the issues require more work, and the impact on lectures and academic activities needing to be discussed at a scheduled Executive Committee of Senate (ESC) meeting on Wednesday morning, MANCO has decided to suspend lectures. A further communication will be issued on this following the ESC meeting.
While the lectures are suspended, operations will continue because these are required to ensure that essential services to students and such critical areas as laboratories are not disrupted.
