Nelson Mandela University, through the Hubs of Convergence, is proud to announce Mandela Week 2026, which will be commemorated from 14 to 17 July 2026 under the theme: “Taking a Stand Against GBV, Substance Abuse and Poverty – Building Unity Through Action.”

Mandela Week 2026 builds on the University’s long-standing partnership with the Zwide Development Forum and Zamukukhanya Primary School in Zwide.

This initiative reflects institutional commitment to meaningful community engagement, social justice, and sustainable impact. Through collaborative action, the University seeks to address pressing social challenges while strengthening community resilience, dignity, and hope.

This year’s programme will focus on practical interventions that support education, wellness, food security, safety and community development. The activities are designed to mobilise staff, students, alumni, community organisations, government partners and businesses in collective efforts that create lasting value for the school and the broader community of Zwide.
