Change the world

Mandela University’s Enactus Society is ready to shine at the 2025 Enactus South Africa National Exposition, bringing fresh ideas, teamwork, and student-driven solutions to the event.

The expo on 17 July at Sandton Convention Centre highlights innovative projects developed by students to tackle real challenges in their communities and help build a more inclusive South Africa.

The event is all about celebrating determination, creativity, and the power of young people to make a real difference.

This year, a passionate team of ten students will represent Enactus Mandela University, supported by Dr Chuene Semono from the Mandela University Africa Hub, Sade Prinsloo from Student Media and Engagement, and Dr Ntuli, Mthokozisi Ntiuli from Student Development and Governance.

The Enactus-Mandela Uni team will compete in two categories. First, they have earned a spot in the national semi-finals, one of only eight universities in the country to do so.

Their project work has already made a difference, and now they will present it live to a national panel of judges.

Four teams will move forward to the finals, with one going on to represent South Africa at the Enactus World Cup in Bangkok, Thailand, from 25 to 28 September 2025.

The team will also take part in the Early-Stage Innovation Competition, aimed at fresh ideas still in development.

It’s an opportunity to pitch bold concepts that are full of potential. Mandela University will be competing for a R5,000 prize, and, more importantly, for recognition as one of the country’s most promising young innovation teams.

As the team gears up for the event, their projects are already making waves beyond the campus. They’re carrying not just their ambitions, but also the hopes of their peers and the voices of their communities. These students are backed by strong mentorship and a shared purpose.
