Reasons to be Proud - #R2bP: Third-year Nelson Mandela University BA Media, Communication and Culture design student Jamie Penrith, won second place in her category in the national Student Gold Pack Packaging Awards competition. She will now be entered into the WorldStar Student packaging awards.

Jamie’s submission into the category of 'Packaging promotes purchase and use’ was a Moon Cup Hourglass packaging.

It is noted that this competition does not expect students in one particular discipline to be packaging, design and marketing experts, but rather students should display an insight into the challenges of packaging and the interaction of the multiple disciplines required in this exciting industry. "This is a notable achievement. Once again, we were up against many South African design institutions and we are very proud of Jamie!”, said Tarryn Rennie, Visual Communication lecturer in the department of Media and Communication.
