Ms Sishuba joined the University in 2018 as Senior Director: People & Institutional Capability. In her new role, she will provide strategic direction and leadership, and be responsible for the overall management of the Human Resources (HR) portfolio, in support of the University’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.
As a member of the senior management team, Ms Sishuba will participate in the wider decision-making and governance structures of the University.
Ms Sishuba holds an MSc in Public Policy and Management from the University of London, an MBA from the South Eastern Louisiana University, an MA (Industrial Psychology) from the University of Fort Hare and a Diploma in Project Management from Damelin.
She joined the University from the Eastern Cape Department of Health, where she was a Change Management Specialist, and a Strategic Human Capital Management and Development Specialist at the Departments of Health, Education and Public Works.
Previous positions include stints in Management Consulting, as Department Head and Accounting Officer at the Eastern Cape Department of Human Settlements, Deputy Director General: Policy Co-ordination, Monitoring & Evaluation, Chief Director: Provincial Human Resources Management, and Organisational Development and Governance in the Office of the Eastern Cape Premier.
At Fort Hare, Ms Sishuba was the HR Officer, Special HR Projects Manager and Head of HR. She also worked as a Personnel Officer for Mayibuye Transport Corporation and at the Department of Foreign Affairs as Senior Administrative Personnel and Training Officer.
In 2008, Ms Sishuba, who served on several boards, received the PWC Eastern Cape Public Sector Women’s Award for Leadership and was a Semi-Finalist Nominee for the Most Influential Women in SA / SADC in 2014.
