First-year Dietetics student Katie has also been selected as part of the South African squad for the Pan Pacific Open Water Swimming Champs to be held in Irvine, California, in August.
Thereafter, she will compete for the SA team at the World Aquatics Junior Open Water Swimming Champs in Sante Fe, Argentina, in September.
