Their outstanding performance at the South African Majorette and Cheerleading Association (SAMCA) competition earned them a spot in the national championships at the end of September in Cape Town.

The Madibaz squad took first place in the All-Girl Cheerleading Squad category, with Rhodes University second. The team also excelled in the CoEd category, claiming another first place position.

“This has been an incredible journey for our squad,” said Rebone Chobane captain of the Madibaz Cheerleaders. “We have put in a lot of hard work, and it's amazing to see it pay off with such great results at the SAMCA Provincials competition.

“We are excited and ready to represent Nelson Mandela University on a national level. We’re determined to give our best performance in Cape Town and continue making our university proud.”

This achievement marks a significant milestone for the Madibaz Cheerleaders as they prepare to compete on a national stage later this month.
