Change the world

Reasons to be Proud - #R2bP: Mandela University’s Centre for Community Technologies (CCT) has won the @OutSystems Innovation Award for Social Impact with their C-Vive application.

This award recognises the team’s hard work and commitment to business innovation with high-performance low-code.

The CCT, CANSA, NTT Data and OutSystems all partnered together to create the C-Vive app to help educate the broad population of South Africa on breaking the stigma around cancer symptoms and diagnoses.

Those lacking literacy and health awareness in rural South Africa often have cancer diagnosed late or not at all. The CCT saw the potential to raise community awareness, help citizens recognise symptoms, and seek earlier intervention. CCT’s C-VIVE mobile app was born in a hackathon, which brought together CCT, OutSystems partner NTT DATA, and the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA). C-VIVE, now available on iOS and Android app stores, improves cancer awareness to save more lives.

The OutSystems Innovation Awards honour and celebrate the teams who are building the software that is creating real digital transformation in their organisations.

For 20 years the company has been helping customers transform big ideas into great software. Their low-code platform unites design, code, and deployment into a single system that radically simplifies the process of creating business-critical software while keeping it always-on and always up-to-date.
