Change the world

23/02/2021

With the release of the Matric results today, we congratulate the Class of 2020 who managed a national pass rate of 76.2% under the difficult conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We look forward to welcoming a number of these students to our University, where we have implemented a number of supporting initiatives to assist our applicants with a smooth admission and registration process.

Your support in sharing the following information among your own networks will be appreciated as it will help towards reducing on-campus numbers and speeding up internal processes towards timeously starting the academic year on 15 March.

We Have the Results

The University has received the final National Senior Certificate (NSC), Independent Examinations Board (IEB) and the South African Comprehensive Assessment Institute (SACAI) Matric results from the Department of Basic Education and is presently processing selections. Applicants will receive the final outcome of their application via SMS within the next few days or via their pin numbers on the website from 23 February onwards.

Be Patient till 1 March

Applicants need not contact the University to find out about their final acceptance as it will take a few days to process these offers. If they have not received an outcome by 1 March, however, they are welcome to contact the University via e-mail on admissions@mandela.ac.za.

Five-Day Acceptance Period

Applicants who have received a firm offer are required to accept or decline the offer within five working days of receipt.  Failure to accept the offer will lead to the space being given to other applicants on the programme’s reserve list.

Change of Programme

Applicants who wish to change their programme may only do so as from 1 March 2021. This process will be shared on the website.

No Late Applications

As advised by the Department of Higher Education and Training, the University will not be accepting any late applications.

Second Chance for Applicants

Applicants who have not applied to the University and are still looking for spaces are advised to make use of the Central Application Clearing House facility of the DHET which will open as from today, 23 February 2021. See https://www.gov.za/services/central-applications-clearing-house
