Change the world

The first week of January is normally a time when Nelson Mandela University opens up for late applications, where spaces are still available in programmes that are, for varied reasons, under subscribed.

The University is accepting late applications for 2018 study this week until Friday, 12 January.

This late application window period enables students who either could not get into their desired programmes because they filled up quickly or were unable to apply in time last year, for various reasons, to do so.

However, late applications are being accepted only from prospective students who meet the University programme’s direct entry requirements and acceptance is subject to the availability of space in the courses applied for. (See list of full programmes)

The application period usually closes around August each year and provisional acceptance is granted thereafter, once applications have been processed. Where provisionally accepted students decline firm offers from the institution, spaces open up in programmes that had been filled by provisional offers.

So far, about 500 prospective students have taken advantage of the late application period. The University’s Academic Administration office will process applications once the late application period concludes on Friday.

Applicants may download the application form from the University’s website (http://www.mandela.ac.za/Apply/Admission/How-do-I-apply) and email the completed application form and the required accompanying documents to admissions@mandela.ac.za.
