Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) students and staff are gearing up for the final 2016 exams, which will be written over two sessions this year and early next year.

Due to the interruptions as a result of the prolonged #FeesMustFall shutdown that has seen an extension of the current academic year, students have been afforded an opportunity to either write their year-end exams in the November/December period and/or in January 2017.

Staff and students have been hard at work over the past few weeks making up for lost contact time through the Academic Completion Plan.

This year’s exams are due to sit from November 25 to December 15, while next year’s batch will be written from 9 to 24 January. The latter exam session will include any re-examinations emanating from the November/December exam period. Re-examinations for exams written in the January session will take place from 9 to 17 February 2017.

The aforementioned dates pertain only to exams administered by the University’s Examinations Office and do not include faculty administered tests and continuous assessment.

With the exam timetable published on Monday, students have until Wednesday, November 16, to indicate which exam periods they will be writing in. The selection can be done using the link below http://webapps.nmmu.ac.za/exammonthselection.

Students are encouraged to make use of available learning resources in preparation for the exams.

We assure our existing and prospective students that the 2016 academic year will be completed in time for the start of the 2017 year.

We wish all our students the best of luck for the exams.
