Three Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) Fine Arts master’s students will be showcasing their work at the opening of the Masters Graduate Exhibition on Friday, 24 February.

According to Senior Lecturer and Head of Department, Dr Pieter Binsbergen, the exhibition forms part of the master’s requirement to complete a body of artworks which are underpinned theoretically by a mini dissertation.

“The studio practice component usually takes the form of an exhibition, for the purposes of internal and external examination, public viewing, and is also used as an educational tool for undergraduate students,” said Binsbergen.

The exhibition, which opens at 6:30pm on 24 February at NMMU’s Bird Street Art Gallery in Central, will showcase artwork from Rene Pirie, Jonathan van der Walt and Mellaney Ruiters.

Their work can also be viewed from 9:30am to 3pm on weekdays from 27 February to 24 March 2017.
