There are a number of applicants who have been admitted to the University but are not yet registered as students because of a lack of funding.

Following a number concessions made by government and the National Students Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), more applicants have been able to proceed with registration to date.

There is a cohort of first time entering applicants who come from Quintile 1, 2 and 3 (no-fee paying) schools, but who had not applied to NSFAS for various reasons.

The University is calling on the above mentioned cohort of admitted applicants to come forward and register.

Contact centre staff have been given the list of applicants who have been accepted by the University and who are eligible for NSFAS but had not applied, and are phoning these applicants and advising them to come register.

The University has been working closely with the national financial aid scheme to speedily resolve the funding matters. This, in line with its commitment to ensuring that all admitted students are successfully registered.

Registration closes this Friday, 10 March 2017, with late registration continuing until 31 March.
